An outlet and platform for creators to take massive risks, without the financial pressures of mounting a show.

Driven by the mandate to provide emerging artists with access to the means of production, the First Sight Performance Festival is described by Theatre Lab’s Artistic Director, Michael Orlando, as "A platform for creators to take massive risks, without the financial pressures of mounting a show."

A grand total of 3 staged readings, 2 solo works, and 2 musicals were selected by Theatre Lab and performed at Toronto’s, Unit 102 Theatre. Over 25 artists across multiple disciplines took part in the three-week series of new work, with performance space and logistical support provided by Theatre Lab.
